22 July, Stage 15: Vaison la Romaine - Les Deux Alpes (226.5 km).
These pictures were taken approximately 1 km from the top of the road to the ski resort of Les Deux Alpes and the finish of stage 15. Again the weather was sunny and warm with temperatures in the mid-twenties in the valley and close to 20 degrees C at the top of Les Deux Alpes.
The stage was won by Santiago Botero (Kelme), 1:51 ahead of Mario Aerts (Lotto) and Axel Merckx (Domo) at 2:30.
Sorry again about the quality of the pictures here. It was getting quite late in the day and I was standing amongst the shadows while my camera was staring out into bright sunlight. Unfortunately my little point-and-click Olympus has no manual controls to compensate for that.

24 July, Stage 16: Les Deux Alpes - La Plagne (179.5 km).
These pictures were taken around 2/3 of the way up the south side of the Col de la Madelaine, the second climb of the day (about about 6 km from the top). We would have prefered to see the stage on the final climb up to La Plagne but unfortunately the rather unpredictable French Police were acting very vigilantly that day and we had great difficulty even getting past the bottom of the mountain. The weather wasn't quite as kind to us today. Sunny most of the time but a fair bit of cloud around too and a cool breeze which kept the temperature from reaching more than 20 degrees C in the valley. At the top of the Col de la Madelaine, the temperature was only 13 degrees C.
The stage was won by Michael Boogerd (Rabobank) riding solo for the last 126 km after breaking away from the lead group on the Col du Télégraphe. Carlos Sastre (CSC - Tiscali) was second at 1:25 followed by Lance Armstrong (US Postal).
